Members of Parliament salaries and allowances

The Tribunal is responsible for setting the salaries and allowances for Members of the Parliament of Victoria (MPs) and for making guidelines relating to the use of some parliamentary allowances.

Annual Adjustment 2026

The Tribunal has made a Determination adjusting the values of salaries and allowances for Members of the Parliament. The Determination takes effect from 1 July 2026.

Comprehensive Determination in effect

On 20 June 2023, and in accordance with section 17 of the Victorian Independent Remuneration Tribunal and Improving Parliamentary Standards Act 2019 (Vic) (VIRTIPS Act), the Tribunal made the Members of Parliament (Victoria) Determination No. 01/2023.

Most recent annual adjustment

The Tribunal is required to make an annual adjustment to the values of salaries and allowances set in the 2023 Determination. On 22 June 2026, the Tribunal made the Members of Parliament (Victoria) Annual Adjustment Determination 2026. This Determination adjusts the values of salaries and allowances with effect from 1 July 2026.
